Forensic approach towards criminal use of mercury in domestic violence

The prevalence of criminal cases against women is not first-hand with statistical data from the National Crime Records Bureau in India proclaiming an even rise domestic violence. Despite numerous laws to protect various crimes including rape, sexual harassment, dowry death, etc., there less respite violence toward India. Indian society needs stand up and address existence many socio-cultural reasons for crime apart literacy lower these statistics. Forensic experts play a pivotal role scientific examination evidence support justice system which end affects lives millions female victims. A case attempted homicide presented wherein 21-year-old married was poisoned some unknown substance laced her milk by in-laws. This interest community as well persons working within medical judiciary fraternity.Case history: woman aged 21 years alleged in-laws husband attempt murder giving substance. She had severe vomiting after drinking where she noticed shining materials vomitus. vomitus gastric lavage were analyzed subsequently.Methodology: Physical Chemical Examinations visual analysis solubility, odour, etc initially conducted on exhibits (Gastric Lavage Vomitus samples) results further confirmed Atomic Absorption Spectrometry.Results: An abnormally high level mercury i.e. 9.88 ppm 332.15 detected Gastric respectively.Conclusion: investigations determined that been using justifying essential forensics linking shreds scientifically.
